What makes us unique? What sets us apart and allows us to reveal our individual personality? Fashion. Sunglasses, handbags, watches, tank tops, sweatshirts, leggings, bermudas, are all a symbol of who we are as a person. Producers appeal to our fashion desires and encourage us to purchase their products using propaganda. Propaganda is everywhere throughout fashion; advertisements may trick us with weasel words and glittering generalities. We may fall into conformity and "jump on the bandwagon". We may be drawn by a certain style and make hasty generalizations about that image. Regardless of the technique, fashion marketers trick, lure, and trap consumers into financial situations they would have otherwise chosen not to be in. Necessity is placed on the backburner as the fashion industry appeals to the desire of images.
